As every parent knows, family time is precious. When I had my daughter, I was working in a high-pressure environment that made it difficult to spend as much time with family as I wanted to. I realized that this kind of work-centered lifestyle was not rewarding for me. I wanted to start a business that reflected my values as a working mom and incorporate the little people I love most, my kids.

My kids live in pajamas. The footsies keep their feet warm, and the soft fabric keeps them comfortable all day. There’s just something about a set of PJs that makes everyone feel cozy. I want them to feel that sense of warmth and cuddly comfort while they’re so young. When they’re comfortable, they feel safe and confident enough to explore the world around them.

Like a lot of moms, I wanted to make sure that everything I gave to my kids was good for them, from their baby soap to their juice boxes. I noticed that it was easy for me to verify that my kids’ food was organic, but not quite as simple to figure out if their clothing was manufactured in a socially responsible way. So when I started Ameritots, I decided to make our products domestically. I wanted to know they were being manufactured under conditions we could all feel good about. The end result: quality pajamas made right here in New York with 100% organic cotton and non-toxic dyes.
